Generic Strattera 100 mg
Strattera is a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor approved for ADHD treatment. Its generic name is atomoxetine for the improvement of ADHD symptoms. Strattera 10 mg has active ingredients of atomoxetine hydrochloride. It is often used in Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and is the most common behavioral disorder starting in childhood and sometimes carrying into adulthood.
ADHD is characterized by inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity of patient. Different medications are available for the treatments of ADHD like Adderall (amphetamine salt combo), Ritalin (methylphenidate), Strattera 10 mg, Dexedrine (Dextroamphetamine), Vyvanse, Concerta, and Methylin as a generic alternative medication.
Dosage Of 100 mg Strattera:
Daily doses of the drug are normally assigned based on use in adults and old-age patients. The dose recommendations will differ based on the age and body weight of the children and older adults. Each hard capsule of Strattera contains atomoxetine hydrochloride equivalent to 10 mg, 18 mg, 25 mg, 40 mg, 60 mg, 80 mg, and 100 mg. All the doses have the same Nonmedicinal ingredients such as pregelatinized starch, dimethicone, gelatin, sodium lauryl sulfate, FD&C Blue No. 2, synthetic yellow iron oxide, and titanium dioxide.
Strattera 10 mg: The white hard capsule of 10 mg, opaque white, imprinted with “Lilly 3227” and “10 mg” in black ink contains 10 mg of atomoxetine.
Strattera 18 mg: Each hard capsule of 18 mg gold (cap) and opaque white (body) capsule marked “LILLY 3238” contains 18 mg in black ink of atomoxetine.
Strattera 25 mg: Each hard capsule of 25 mg has opaque blue (cap) and opaque white (body) capsules imprinted with “Lilly 3228” and “25 mg” in black ink of atomoxetine.
Strattera 40 mg: Each hard capsule of 40 mg has opaque blue and opaque white capsules marked “LILLY 3229” and contains 40 mg in black ink of atomoxetine. Strattera 60 mg: Each hard capsule of 60 mg has an opaque blue (cap) and gold (body), marked “LILLY 3239” containing 60 mg in black ink of atomoxetine.
Strattera 80 mg: Each hard capsule of 80 mg has opaque brown (cap) and opaque white (body), marked “LILLY 3250” and contains 80 mg in black ink of atomoxetine. Strattera 100 mg: Each hard capsule of 100 mg has an opaque brown capsule is marked “LILLY 3251” and “100 mg” in black ink of atomoxetine.
How Does Strattera Work?
Strattera 100 mg works by increasing the amount of norepinephrine, an important chemical in the brain. It helps to increase attention span and reduce impulsive behavior and hyperactivity of ADHD.
How Is Strattera 100 mg Taken?
The patient should take Strattera 100 mg from one to four weeks to work. After four weeks, the dose can be decreased as the health condition of the doctor. The initial dose is 10 mg and the highest dose of the Strattera is 100 mg. The highest dose of the medication is often given in once a day in the morning if the doctor feels it according to the severity of the patient. But taking this medication late in the day may cause trouble sleeping (insomnia).
Take this medication with or without food as directed by your doctor regularly. Swallow the capsules whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or open the capsules. If the capsule is accidentally opened or broken, You should not use it further. Because if the powder gets in your eyes, it may damage your eye. So, flush it with plenty of water right away and contact your doctor. Use this medication regularly at the same time(s) each day to get the most benefit from it.
